FEBRUARY 2006

February sees the start of the new travelling season, and as usual the first fair of the year was Funtime Carnivals "Valentines Fair" at the Gyle Shopping Centre. It was a different kind of fair from previous years, a "99p entry" and an "every ride 99p" promotion was on offer as well as the usual wristband offer for Valentines Day. No big hitters were at the fair this year and for the first time, no Dodgems were on offer. Instead, a couple of other rides were hired for the event. Anthony Strands "Rage Cage" Round Up was making its debut in his ownership after purchasing it from Georgie Matthews during the winter. Also making its debut in his ownership was Johnie Lawrences Chair'O'Planes bought from Jimmy Graham at the start of the year. Anthony Strands "Nintendoland" Funhouse and Ervin Gambles "Wacky Racers" Car Track also made there debuts at the Gyle. Valentines Day itself was very busy indeed with almost a 15 minute queue at every ride.

Ryan Spencers fair in Elgin also has started in the last few days of February.

Also in February, John Anthony Cowleys "Crazy Caterpillar" Coaster was sold down south to Thomas Boswell. The ride wasnt seen much on the travelling circuit but did make an appearances at Kirkcaldy, SECC and Stenhousemuir.
