The weeks leading up to the main games day boasts a variety of different rides with the line-up changing all the time with rides leaving and coming almost every week. I will try and make at least one trip a week to the ground, in order for me to make a report and keep you up to date with what is present.

The fair at Burntisland this year has started with the usual rides attending. George Irvins "Transylvannia" Ghost Train is the only ride open at the moment as well as arcades, stalls and kiddies rides. Clifford Codonas waltzer loads are in postion as is George Irvins Dodgems. I would expect to see Joe Sedgwicks Dodgems appearing in the next few days along with Geoege Codonas Twist.
Codonas Waltzers and George Irvins Dodgems are now all built up and operational, thus making 3 adult rides present and open for business. The other being George Irvins Ghost Train. Also open was Stewart Millers "Buggies" car track.
Ryan Spencers Waltzers have now joined the rest at the ground, fresh from Hazelhead, the ride will be there for about 6 weeks. Also present now are Spencer Hiscoes "Tempest" Skydiver, but NO Miami this year and Ervin Gambles "Big Apple" Coaster arriving straight from Leith Links, and obviously will not be going to Newcastle Town Moor this year. Expected soon is George Codonas Twist and Joe Sedgwicks Dodgems (if they are coming!).

John Evans' "Peoples Mover" Waltzers have just pulled on and are being built up, taking the count to 3 sets of Waltzers. The are being set up across from Ryan Spencers Waltzers.
Things are really taking shape now at the 'Summer Fairground' with more rides arriving today and being set up. Joe Sedgwicks Dodgems have finally arrived, with the transport being repainted with 'Sedgwicks' on the side after buying the ride from Joe White at the start of the year. Joe Whites replacement ride, the "Hellchaser" Ghost Train has also been set up at the other end of the ground. Jimmy Thomas' Rock'O'Plane, Michael Clarks Chair'O'Planes and Albert Wheatleys Twist are all on ground and either being built up or already up and running. John Wheatleys "Go-Gator" Coaster is on site as well but still packed up. Spencer Hiscoes "Tempest" has packed up and left as it has commitments at Braehead Shopping Centre.

No new rides to report on but all the rides that were either parked up or being built are now all open for business. John Wheatleys "Go-Gator" coaster on the opposite side of the ground that it was last year. Everything else is in their usual position. Here are some photos from my latest visit.
The latest news from the fairground is that a new ride has arrived on the grounds and is in the process of being constructed. It looks like a smaller version of the "Magic/Wild Mouse coaster. The owner is believed to be Harry Miller, but still waiting on clarification. Here are some pictures of the ride and loads.
The new coaster is now built up and soon will be ready for its grand opening. It looks like a smaller version of M&D Taylors "Jammin Coaster". Here are some pictures of the new ride.
The fairground is looking full now, with limited gaps. John Wheatleys "Limbo Dancer" Miami and Stanley Gambles Tagada have joined the rest of the rides at Burntisland taking the total to 15 large rides. Stewart Millers "Buggy's" have moved to the top end of the ground to allow Stanley Gambles Tagada in its usual position fresh from the Wirral Show in England. John Wheatleys Miami arrived on Monday (Probably straight from T in the Park) and is operational next to his "Go-Gator" Coaster and "Outer Limits" Funhouse. There might still be visits from David Thompsons "Trailblazer" Superbob (currently open in Glenrothes) and Martin Slaters "Asteroid" Round-Up as they both usually attend for the main games day (Monday 21st July). The new spinning coaster is called the Twister and was charging £2 for a ride which was consisting of about 3 reveloutions of the track and seemed to be doing well. The weather is staying really warm which is making the ground a great place to be for all the family.

After the climax of the Highland Games, most of the rides start to move on. The rides are back to what was there at the beginning, but with the late addition of George Codonas Twist which is now occupying George Irvins Dodgem position. Ryan Spencers Waltzers looked like it was getting ready to be pulled down. Here is the latest ride list.
